Festival Artifice Numérique #05 ANIMAL!

From 18 November to 03 December

This is the beginning of the sixth mass extinction of animals and the first of humans on earth! What can we do? A digital technology festival where laboratory animals are used as guinea pigs for electronic implants, where garage Biohackers play with the DNA of cells to make the new Man, where others invent micro robots in the shape of cockroaches and others take refuge in virtual worlds…

No, we are working at the 109 for the vegetation of this pole of contemporary culture and the implantation of living species in Nice’s former slaughterhouses. You will meet animals, familiar and sometimes stranger, everywhere, in freedom, on the site and in curious digital installations!

This new festival Artifice leaves a place for living animals, the computer-assisted goldfish of Quentin Destieu, the laboratory amphibians of Camille Franch-Guerra, the insect vivarium of Biotopie, the sound plants of Tom Lelouche, the digitized animals of Jérémy Griffaud, animal photography in the wilderness of Didier Alemany’s garden in the Mercantour park of Cédric Dupont and finally the ghostly video installations of disappeared animals of Valentin Maron…

Performing artists too, Roccio Berenger’s animated plants, Delphine Pouilly’s wolves, Remy Masseglia’s latest film, we will discuss all this, we will conduct a non-destructive laboratory on the living and we invite you to our digital creation workshops of animated forms!
