Camille Llobet’s exhibition is presented as part of Automne de l’Image, an annual event at Le 109 — Pôle de Cultures Contemporaines — that brings together several festivals centered on the still and moving image, including the OVNi festival. Through video and sound installations, the artist captures invisible effort, suspended movement, and the memory of bodies — from a musician’s gesture to the footsteps of a high-mountain guide.

Between the daily notes recorded by a ski patroller in notebooks spanning 1965 to 2002 and the present reality of monumental construction projects at extreme altitude, the film draws a portrait of a mountain — Les Grands Montets — caught between the tourism industry and climate change.

Founded in 1964, the Les Grands Montets resort brought high-altitude skiing to a wider public. Set within a glacial environment in the midst of transformation, this extraordinary complex is told through the voices of those who maintain it. What emerges is the polyphonic chronicle of a mountain.
