Forum d’Urbanisme et d’Architecture,
Le 109 (entrance via 89, route de Turin)
As the opening of the 2026 edition of OVNi, Objectif Vidéo Nice, approaches, the Forum d’Urbanisme et d’Architecture invites the public to an evening exploring the intersection of architecture and body scale, marking the upcoming conclusion of the exhibition « Atmosphérique, filmer l’architecture ».
1:00 PM – 6:30 PM: exhibition continuously accessible
The film Ode marítima will be on view within the exhibition as a prelude to the conversation.
6:30 PM: public conversation
Focusing on the video work Ode marítima, Fu Le, choreographer, videographer, and director of the piece, will engage in a dialogue with the audience and with Nathalie Amae, independent curator, author, and artistic director of the OVNi festival. In this film, dance and cinema—two ways of writing movement in space—make architecture the third apex of a narrative triangle and the subject of a dizzying story. The conversation will explore the narrative potentials of architecture, bodies, dance, and film, in connection with a literary work by Fernando Pessoa.
7:45 PM: dance performance at La Grande Halle
Le Chant du Styrène (excerpt, 10 minutes)
Choreography: Fu Le (Compagnie Tetrapode)
Performers: Fu Le, Julie Gérardi, Jeanne Durouchoux
This piece addresses desire in a sanitized world. Bodies plunge into a petroleum-derived material: polystyrene. Between dance and physical handling, the living confronts the material: a concrete dance resurrects inert matter and recreates, from scattered volumes, a plastic world in the image of a lost paradise.
Fu Le, a career spanning stage, sculpture, and image
A French choreographer and self-taught videographer, Fu Le’s film work is now internationally recognized. After graduating in sculpture following Applied Arts studies, he initially worked in scenography before training in the performing arts, starting with puppetry to stage his own sculptures. He studied physical theater in Buenos Aires, contemporary dance in Lausanne, and earned a Master’s degree in choreography in Taiwan. Upon returning to France, he revisited his practice as a visual artist through the sensory experience of the dancing body, particularly through video, with a marked interest in vertical dance, as demonstrated in « Ode marítima ». At the crossroads of dance and visual arts, his latest films examine the social transformations linked to urbanization.
A connection with OVNi 2026
Following his appearance at the Forum, Fu Le will be featured in OVNi’s central exhibition at Le 109, Tant de corps qui poussent en nous, with the video work Nouage.
