MOYA

MOYA's TV

Exposition et performance vidéo

Deprived of television when he was in boarding school, MOYA made up for it during his three years of study at the Arts-Déco in Nice: « I wanted to be an audiovisual creature… I attended certain classes dressed as Casimir ». But, we are in the middle of the 70s and his teachers are not convinced that video can be a means of artistic expression. He even designed a large number of programme projects based on his theory of the « television of the future » of which he was the only « tele-artist ».

In the 2000s, MOYA returned to the magic skylight, but that of the computer. Since then, he has become a master in the making of 3D films and virtual exhibitions, becoming a true « cyber-artist », fulfilling his dream of a creature living at the heart of the work of art. He is already preparing to live also at the heart of the exhibition whose virtual double will exist at the same time on one of the islands he owns on Second Life.

Moya’s TV

Saturday 28 November 2020 – 14.00 to 18.00 hrs.

MOYA lives every night in his virtual world, in the Moya Land of Second Life, the creator has finally become the creature; this is the culmination of his live video work begun in 1977 at the Villa Arson with his programme Bonzour Bonzour.

Throughout the duration of the OVNi Festival, the television programme projects on display will be reactivated and functional on Moya Land. During the screening, we will be able to follow the life of the artist live, re-experiencing the work initiated in the reading of the theories of communication and Mcluhan. An experience where video art returns to its origins, before the video recorder or digital recording, while prefiguring the ubiquity to come.
