The association Objectif V. Nice was founded in 2015 by Odile Redolfi and followed by an invested and benevolent board: Martine and François Brody, Ludovic Cardon, François Fauchon, Murielle Mayette-Holtz, Françoise and Jean-Claude Quemin, M. Alain Serratrice, Colette Soardi.
The association organizes OVNI – Festival International d’Art Vidéo, artist residencies (project writing, directing and production), off-site programming in France and abroad, and is also committed to developing image education initiatives.
From 2017 to 2019, OVNi offered a contemporary video art fair, then in 2022, the interactive platform OVNi Online appeared to extend the festival’s proposals (project supported by the DRAC, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur). OVNi’s mission is to promote encounters – between artists and professionals and the public, between the public and artistic creation – and to enable exchanges in a convivial and joyful spirit.

OVNi ONLINE
A new proposal in the form of an interactive platform inspired by cd-rom games that breaks free from the usual formats, a new creation in its own right that presents the work of video artists in formats of variable temporality. As innovative as it is nostalgic, this interface brings together the work of artists who have taken part in previous editions of the festival: short works, video extracts, 360° images… In particular, OVNi Online makes it possible to build up a database of images, videos and installations produced especially for the festival. As the installations are ephemeral, the platform’s heritage, memory and reference purposes are all the more important. OVNi Online is a project conceptualized by Lili Benente with Kenny Briolotta, with the support of the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles.

RESIDENCIES
Since the festival’s inception, a number of solo and duo artists have been welcomed into residencies during the winter season, thanks to the patronage of the WindsoR hotel. The first residency format, set up on an informal basis over the course of the year, is open to artists from a wide range of disciplines. The second format concerns the winners of the two OVNi Festival Prizes, OVNi Sud-Emergence and OVNi Cosmopolis, and the co-production of institutional invitations.
Stays of 15 days to 4 weeks are for writing, directing or production.

OUTSIDE THE WALLS
While OVNi was conceived as an artistic hospitality project, and the festival has succeeded in bringing together local players and multiplying invitations to French and international art institutions to exhibit video artworks in hotels, cultural spaces and unusual locations, OVNi has had many opportunities to extend its gesture beyond the Côte d’Azur. OVNi has curated exhibitions and video programs in France (Paris, Chassagne Montrachet) and abroad (Taipei, Seoul, Turin…).

IMAGE EDUCATION
This project is part of the cultural awakening and transmission initiatives called for by the French Ministry of Education and Culture. The proposed resources are in line with the objectives of the Common Base of Knowledge, Skills and Culture. They aim to contribute to an understanding of the many expressions of today’s world. At Objectif V., we believe that welcoming the public and providing educational support are of paramount importance. Nice. Since 2022, certain formats developed in particular in the OVNi Festival program, supported by the association, have made it possible to offer tours with mediation and educational booklets to school groups, senior citizens and audiences with disabilities. Objectif V. Nice is also planning practical and artistic workshops. To achieve this, the association is supported by experts.

The Spirit of the OVNi Festival

In November, Nice becomes the stage for an event that floods the city with images and sparks international artistic encounters. As the city slows down, hotels come alive, and museums and heritage sites become the settings for singular visual experiences offered by 120 artists from the international art scene and the local territory.

Welcome to OVNi.

At Le 109 — former slaughterhouses turned cultural hub of the City of Nice — OVNi brings together its residents for the opening of the Biennale. Filipe Vilas Boas, the associated artist of this edition, invites them aboard an unstable sculpture: a space for discussion and performances evoking the imbalances of the world. OVNi thus brings together dancers, choreographers, circus artists, puppeteers, and performers for a unique experiment in Re:public.

In the main hall, a monumental exhibition unfolds the moving image in multiple, immersive, and sensory forms. The festival asserts here a manifesto-like vision of what video art can be today.

OVNi also extends across contemporary art and heritage venues, from the Espace de l’Art Concret in Mouans-Sartoux to the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Villas, museums, sites of memory, and unexpected spaces form a constellation through which visitors wander from one atmosphere to another, from one luminous intensity to a more understated work. Each venue transforms our relationship to the image. Encounters and performances punctuate the festival throughout.

Finally, video art breaks free from tidy screens and white cubes to infiltrate where it is least expected. To close the festival, 5 hotels in the Carré d’Or open their doors and become temporary exhibition spaces. Guest rooms host installations conceived by international artists alongside emerging local voices. The visitor no longer simply observes the work — they inhabit it, move through it, and sometimes lose themselves within it. Entering a room is like entering a thought.

Tania Mouraud, representing the Académie des Beaux-Arts and serving as President of the Cosmopolis jury, will accompany the closing of the Biennale.

The Circle of Friends of OVNi

The Circle of Friends of OVNi, founded in April 2024 by a group of collectors and friends of the festival, supports and promotes the initiatives of Objectif V. Nice.

Working alongside OVNi, the Circle is committed to contemporary art and support for emerging artists. It actively contributes to the development of the Biennale, notably through its sponsorship of the OVNi Sud Emergence Prize and its support for artist residencies, thereby helping to consolidate a demanding and sustainable artistic ecosystem.

Through its three residency programs—writing, production, and cross-disciplinary—the Cercle supports artists from the Sud and Occitanie regions, Monaco, and across the Mediterranean basin. Each residency includes a grant, dedicated time for research and creation, mentorship, and a presentation as part of the OVNi Biennale 2026. In parallel, the Cercle offers its members gatherings, trips, and special opportunities centered on artistic creation, strengthening connections between artists, professionals, and collectors at both local and international levels.

Devenir un mécène

Joining the OVNi Biennale means working together to build a vibrant cultural adventure driven by contemporary creation. It’s much more than just support; it’s about becoming part of a shared story—with a tailored approach adapted to your goals, values, and schedule.
Supporting the Biennale also means supporting Objectif Video Nice, a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to culture, education, and social cohesion in the South region. Thanks to your contribution, we collaborate with local and national partners to expand access to culture for everyone. Like our volunteers, you become an essential part of the event.
As a partner, you are an ambassador for an extraordinary Biennale—and you choose what you wish to support: artistic creation and production, programming and outreach initiatives for specific audiences, or the Art & Science series and workshops dedicated to image, sound, and language technologies.

A commitment that reflects who you are, in support of art that brings people together.
