OVNi The Biennal reveals a constellation of moving images that illuminate the heritage of the French Riviera, from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to Mouans-Sartoux, with Nice as its epicenter. OVNi invites visitors to wander through hotels, unusual venues and artistic institutions to discover hidden gems selected by discerning curators.

It is a true spatial and temporal experience that visitors are about to encounter within this unprecedented network across the region and within a labyrinth of hotel rooms that gives the event its singular character and reputation beyond borders.

For this eleventh edition and first biennal, OVNi cultivates the fusion of disciplines around « Performancia », an invitation to come aboard that involves many artistic structures beyond the world of visual arts: dance, theater, circus, puppetry and more.

The Biennal is also a time to rethink the association’s activities and to develop art residencies. Beyond the residencies of the Sud Emergence award winners (Melisa Yagmur Saydi and Sacha Rey, hosted in early 2025), two new formats have now been introduced:

► The OVNi on Space creation residency, supported by Le Cercle des amis, which extends its support to emerging artists from the South of France and Occitanie regions. 

► The cross-residency, supported by a partner institution

In both cases, OVNi can host the artists at the WindsoR hotel and offer them a space to present their work during the festival.

Macarena’s project is a film based on correlations and the particularities of bodily movement, which functions both as a marker of identity and as a performative gestus. The dynamics of bodies embody a history, a memory and reveal a social function.

Florence Cazenove

Administrator and Head of Development

For the past 20 years, Florence has been developing projects aimed at integrating young people through major international events such as Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, United Nations Ocean Conference 2025 and Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

At OVNi, her mission is to develop outreach programs for audiences who are distant from cultural institutions and to foster educational projects centered on moving images. She is also responsible for fundraising and patronage.

Anastasiia Shmakova

General Coordinator

Anastasiia has 10 years of international experience (France, Russia, Ukraine) in managing complex multicultural events. She is passionate about creating meaningful events that bring people together and inspire them.

At OVNi, she will be responsible for coordinating partners and overseeing logistics.

Sophie Dloussky

Head of Communications

Sophie studied art, cinema and graphic design, notably at the Swiss schools HEAD and ECAL.

She will bring to OVNi her experience in video, animation, drawing and photography, as well as, more broadly, communication.
