Médiations et publics

Mediation and audiences

Médiations et publics

Our commitment to reaching a wider audience is expressed through our approach to video art, an often overlooked branch of contemporary art. We aim to reach a variety of audiences, including people with disabilities, Alzheimer’s sufferers, senior citizens, young people (from elementary school to university students) and professionals, locally, nationally and internationally. With this in mind, we have put in place a number of targeted strategies.

Development of mediation
We are firmly committed to expanding our mediation activities. In fact, we are currently finalizing a partnership with the professional guide-lecturer diploma, with the main aim of offering mediation adapted to the visually impaired and blind, while remaining accessible to all. In addition, we plan to adapt our mediations by collaborating with volunteer mediators who will immerse themselves in the works and visions of the artists, creating unique and personalized mediation experiences. Our aim is to evolve these initiatives over the course of our next editions, in particular by developing mediations that encompass the senses such as smell (in collaboration with the Université de Côte d’Azur’s olfactory branch courses) and touch (in partnership with the Arrimage association).

Image education

As mentioned above, image education is at the heart of our various activities. As previously mentioned, image education is at the heart of our various actions. In 2022, we have obtained approval from the French Ministry of Education and Culture to carry out image education missions in schools. An educational booklet will be provided to teachers and students to help them understand the works and artists of the 2023 edition. In addition, we are seeking to reach out to various student audiences by establishing concrete partnerships as part of their training (ISCOM, IAE, professional guide-lecturer license, Art History DU).

Pass Culture
From this 9th edition onwards, the OVNi festival is integrated into the individual and collective offers of the Pass Culture, initiated by the government. These offers take the form of autonomous access through the platform, offering various festival itineraries and exhibitions. Practical workshops focusing on the video medium, led by professionals and teachers, are also part of this offer. In addition, a special tour is organized for Pass Young Ambassadors to promote the festival on their networks and platforms, while also targeting other young users.
